Beautiful isn't it? This is the river right by our house.
But when you look closer right now it's moving so fast even an adult would be swept away and it's completely muddy right now because of it's pace.
By about 9:00 pm right now the water goes over the top of that spillway and is spilling out of the banks before it into a playground, pavilion, and a retention area. This was taken in the morning at it's lowest peak.
Forceful! After the river leaves our area it is going down and flooding an elementary school that is all sand bagged. They say it's the worst it's ever been in 25 years.
This is the retention area after it has drained for a while in the morning. Yikes! My kids are banned from the river right now which is really putting a damper on things since they are down there most of the day usually playing in it and building forts.

SCARY! It is hard when "the fun" is taken from the kids, but that could be soo dangerous. I hope it all settles down soon.
