Christmas Day 2011

My emotions were all over the place this year for Christmas. Christmas morning was also the Sabbath so we got the privilege to go to sacrament and think about he Savior on Christmas, however our church was at 8:00am making it a bit tricky for Christmas morning. We opted to wake the kids up and do stockings, breakfast, church and then return home to open the gifts.

The kids were exhausted but really good about the whole stocking only thing. I had a grand idea to get up early and make a gourmet breakfast for them however they ended up so tired they had no appetite and when Coby tried to take his vitamin he ran to the kitchen garbage and puked and we all laughed hysterically and decided to give up on breakfast.

Off to church we went and the spirit was so strong and it was a beautiful service. I left to come home thinking it should be this way every year what a great focus for the kids.
We came home and the kids were right ready to open gifts and the first one was a family gift...and xbox 360 kinect the kids were pretty excited about it.

So two days before Christmas Kelbi started saying she wanted this Barbie Charm school and of course there were none to be found but Cade assured me that as soon as she opened her singing machine she would forget all about it. She was excited when she opened it until the darn thing did not work it was completely broken....oh crap! She also wanted pet shops which look like a lot in their boxes until you open them and there is this little pile of toys. She got a couple of other things but it basically looked like not much after it was open. She comes up to me and says I can't find my charm school do you know where it is mom? I tell her I don't think you got it honey and she looks at me with a slightly shaking chin trying not to cry and says okay then sits down at her toys trying to play with them and not cry. I was wishing she would be a brat so that I would think good lesson for her but no she was being so good about it. By the time we got to my moms for lunch I was in tears....I've never screwed up Christmas before.

The two middle boys were so excited about everything they got and bless Cade he just couldn't think of what he wanted so his was just okay.

Conner got it long awaited ipod.

Coby got all the Halo building sets he wanted.

Cade got his blow gun he wanted but he wasn't surprised like we thought he would be, he had figured it out that we got it for him.

Coby had building sets everywhere for 2 days working away and loving it.

Oh you know it we ordered that darn Charm school on the internet on Christmas day and when it came in the mail a week later it was finally the Christmas I had hoped for Kelbi.

She loves this! Maybe better luck next year.
