Cade got the chance to drag the old man on his first adventure with the "real" scouts! The destination was Moab, with hiking and rafting on the agenda... surrounded by eating, of course.
I just wanted to go because Tandy promised me I could post on her blog when I got back, hence this entry.
But blogging control aside, we had a wild ride. The camping was primitive (note the "open air" outhouse). And we had plenty of rain the first 24 hours-- I started looking for any animals traveling two-by-two. And took lots of grief over my new tent (resembles something you'd find the Arabian Desert). But let the record show we stayed dry when others were swimming!
But whining aside, it was a terrific time. The hiking through Arches was incredible. The rafting on the Colorado-- featuring the highest water levels in over decade-- was great! Especially when Cade and I got to take the two-man "duckie" through the highest rapids.
Most of all, though, just a perfect chance to spend some quality time with my boy, and an outstanding group of friends and compadres.

That looks like a lot of fun. That is one thing you miss out on with having all girls (scout trips) but Colby has enoph of that. They look like they had a good dad and son trip.
Where's the Arabian Tent picture?
CHAD WISHES HE WAS HERE!
